Restoration and Repair

Renovation & Repair

As part of our commitment to Sustainable Design we are happy to advise on repairing and renovating your home and its furnishings where it’s practical to do so. In an age of flat-pack and mass production we are proud to work with some highly skilled local suppliers and crafts people.

If you live in an older property, carefully restored period features add to the charm and may even enhance its value. You may enjoy tackling some jobs yourself, but others can require more specialist help. We work with trusted local suppliers to bring out the best in our clients’ homes, and are happy to seek out other specialists for unusual jobs.

Restoring wooden floors

Wooden floors are a practical and beautiful type of flooring. If you have wooden floors that are worn or damaged, restoration can make a world of difference to the way they look. We work with Sussex based flooring experts who can sand, seal and repair damage to your floors, even specialist floors such as parquet.

Not all furniture is worth re-upholstering, but if you have good quality or unusual pieces (or ones with sentimental value) we are happy to provide quotes and source fabrics.

Furniture repairs

Damage doesn’t have to mean consigning a piece of furniture to the skip or the bonfire. The skilled joiners we work with can replace legs, repair joints and make an old piece as good as new.

Curtain alterations

If you have good quality curtains which you want to take from one house to another (or one room to another), our curtain makers will be able to work out the best way to adjust them to fit. This could be reducing the size to fit smaller windows, but we also have creative ways of reusing fabric in larger spaces.

Antique shop / boot sale find in need of TLC?

If ‘vintage’ appeals to you, but your DIY skills are not up to the task – from repairs, to re-wiring of old light fittings – just ask.

Sink / bath / work surface repairs

We have contacts with specialist surface repairers, and are happy to obtain quotes so you can work out if a repair is feasible.
